There is a warning about a popular new “challenge” on social media platform TikTok.
It shows people inserting a coin between a plugged-in cell phone charger and an electical outlet.
The Electrical Safety Authority in Ontario warns not to participate or share this challenge.
They say it could lead to electrical fires and pose a serious safety risk.
They note, despite the electrical damage caused by their actions, some TikTok users continue to put themselves and others at immediate risk for injury or fatality.
