Reinhard Stelter peacefully passed away on January 6, 2020 at Pinecrest Home for the Aged at the age of 81 years.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years Doris, children Tom (Shelley) Stelter, Linda (Jeff) Stelter, Diane (Erik) Stelter. Grandchildren, Adam Stelter, Robin Stelter, Allison Matsuo, Christian Matsuo and Alexandria Hall. Sisters Olga Schmidtke, Erna (Siegfried) Kothe, Brother Erwin (Stella) Stelter and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Theodore and Helene Stelter, Aunt Alfrieda Ackerman, Uncles John, Edward, Ernest and Alfred Lippert.
Reinhard was born in Poland on January 2, 1939. He came to Canada with his mother and siblings in 1952 and stayed with family in Dinorwic, helping on the farm and tourist camp. He spent his summers on the lake guiding. He moved to Manitoba where he met and his married his wife Doris on October 7, 1966. They moved back forth for a few years but Dinorwic was his home and returned to stay in 1974 till his health would no longer allow it. He worked in the forest industry starting with Dryden Paper Company and ending with Domtar in 2004 when he retired. After he retired he enjoyed many hours on the lake fishing with his uncle Alfred or he would be tinkering in his garage.
As per Reinhard’s request there will be no service. There will be a family gathering at a later date. A special thank you to the staff at Dryden Regional Health Centre and Pinecrest Home for the Aged for all his care. Especially to the ones in his final days.
