From Winnipeg through our area and on to Thunder Bay, Snowfall Warnings remain in effect across the entire district.
A slow moving system continues to track Eastward across the area, with an addition 10 – 15 centimetres possible in some areas. The immediate Dryden area should see 5 to 10 cm before the system moves through sometime tonight.
Highway plows are out in force across the area, with ON511 tracking individual plows via GPS locators.
Doppler weather radar shows moderate but steady snowfall in most communities.
Thunder Bay will be hardest hit with an addition 15 cm expected along with 50kph winds causing blowing snow and drifting.
At 11:20 am, area highways are reported as snow-covered to ‘centre bare.’ Hwy 502 between Dryden and Fort Frances was cllosed earlier today (Saturday) due to a collision. The highway is report open in both directions at 11:20 AM
