Albert Ross Doudiet Sr.
April 2, 1956 – January 12, 2020
In loving memory of Albert Ross Doudiet Sr. age 63, who passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Sunday January 12th at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Center.
Albert is survived by his loving son, Albert Jr. of Dryden, ON. Also missing him terribly are his siblings: Joe, Sheila, and Rick (Cathy), all of Dryden; Janet, of Thunder Bay; Lawrence (Cheryl), of Ear Falls; and Shawn (Pat) of Dinorwic; as well as his Aunt Pauline (Bob) Lisk, of Dryden; and numerous nieces and nephews who all loved their “Uncle Funny” dearly.
Albert was predeceased by his parents Ross and Dorothy Doudiet of Oxdrift, ON; his brother, Cameron Doudiet; and his sister, Darlene Pollard.
Albert’s greatest joy in life was spending time with his family and friends – especially in the great outdoors.
He was a kind and gentle man with a big heart (a soft spot for animals and kids), who worked hard, helped whenever help was needed, and who loved making people laugh. A better, and more loyal friend than Albert, you would be hard pressed to find.
Albert thoroughly enjoyed camping and fishing with his son and extended “Rugby Lake Family” (especially if it involved a good fish fry!); bow hunting adventures with his buddies Eloi Turbide and Bill Parker; as well as coffee mornings with his good friend, Chris Jonassen. And anybody who knew Albert, knew that there was an extra-special place in his heart for his life-long best friend (and “partner in crime”) Charlie Barton. The bond between these two was unlike anything else. Always up to some sort of antics, and ALWAYS laughing, and making wise cracks.
The loss of Albert has left a great hole in the hearts and lives of the many people who knew and loved him. He is very deeply missed by his family and friends.
There will be no visitation, as cremation has already taken place, and a Celebration of Albert’s Life will be held at a later date.
If friends so desire, a donation to a charity of your choice, in honour of Albert’s generous and helpful nature would be very much appreciated by his family. Donations may be made through Stevens Funeral Homes PO Box 412, Dryden, ON P8N 2Z1. Condolences may be posted at www.stevensfuneralhomes.ca.
