The Elementary Teachers Federation of Ontario is joining other teachers unions in a rotating walk-out on Monday.
The ETFO says members in some of the largest school boards in southern Ontario will be affected, but school boards in northwestern Ontario won’t be yet.
Meanwhile, high schools in the Rainy River District will be closed on Tuesday.
The Ontario Secondary School Teachers Federation has selected the Rainy River District School Board as one of nine affected by the one-day job action.
Tuesday is also the day the Ontario Catholic Teachers Association is planning to walk off the job.
The teachers unions say the job actions are to back their contract demands.
