Dryden Police are reporting multiple theft charges in the city.
Police say on Thursday at 11:30am they were called to investigate an incident at Walmart where the front doors were pried open while evening employees were working.
Police say it was reported that the man walked in, took around $1,600 worth of merchandise, and fled in what appeared to be a KK Penner Tire commercial vehicle.
Police then say during the investigation they discovered that a truck had been stolen from the KK Penner property and a Black Mazda, 4-door hatchback reported stolen from Winnipeg was located near KK Penner.
Dryden Police say the accused attempted to tow the Mazda with the KK Penner Truck as the Mazda contained numerous stolen items, but instead it was towed a short distance and abandoned.
Police say the accused was arrested by Ontario Provincial Police after the KK Penner Tire Truck was involved in a single vehicle collision near Melgund Lake.
