Students in Grade 9 at high schools in the Keewatin-Patricia School District won’t have to worry about cramming this weekend for their upcoming EQAO math exam.
The Board is following several others in Ontario by postponing the test scheduled for next week.
Officials say administration and marking of the assessment is done by secondary teachers and education workers, who are members of the Ontario Secondary School Teachers’ Federation.
Those individuals are not participating in test preparation or assessments as part of escalating job action in an on-going contract dispute with the province.
The Board says they are awaiting further direction from the Ministry of Education about the possibility of semester one students participating in the assessment at a later date.
