It was standing room only Tuesday evening at Seven Generations Education Institute for the first public consultation on the All Nations Hospital project.
Ray Racette, a member of the All Nations committee and president of the Lake of the Woods District Hospital, says he was thrilled with the turnout.
“I think it’s great because it shows that there’s interest in what we’re doing,” says Racette, “…and I think there’s a lot of interest in how we’re doing it as well because that’s new work for all of us.”
He adds that some of the feedback they received had to do with making the hospital accessible
“…making sure that it is a full accessible building regardless of who is going to use it and what their specific needs might be…I think that was a really mindful comment and we had our planners there to hear it, too.”
Another topic brought forward was making sure the hospital had a wide enough variety of services to prevent the need for further travel.
