A warning if you’re planning on heading west today. (Wednesday)
A Snowfall Warning is in place for most of southern Manitoba stretching from the Ontario boundary all the way to Brandon and the Saskatchewan boundary.
Environment Canada says between 10 and 15 centimetres of snow is expected starting this afternoon and lasting into Thursday morning, with winds gusting up to 60 KM/H.
Officials add visibility may be suddenly reduced at times due to heavy snow, and that if you are out on the road you should be prepared to adjust your driving with the changing road conditions.
At this time, northwestern Ontario is expected to get hit by the front, though no Snowfall Warning is in place in the region.
However, a Special Weather Statement has been issued for Sioux Lookout.
The area could see 10 to 20 centimetres of snow starting tonight and lasting through tomorrow.
The heaviest amounts are expected to fall Thursday during the day.
CKDR Meterologist Bill Laidlaw says travel on the highways is not recommended Thursday morning.
