A third period comeback fell short for the Dryden GM Ice Dogs Wednesday night.
The visiting Red Lake Miners carried a 4-0 lead into the third period and held on for a 5-3 win.
Red Lake’s own Jordan Baranesky led the way with a pair of goals, while Morgan Venne, Shay Sommerfeld and Ethan Stuckless added singles.
The local boys were solid for Dryden GM as Dylan Winsor of Ear Falls and Kendall Schulz of Sioux Lookout found the back of the net.
Dryden’s Ben Hackl, on loan from the Kenora Thistles, earned an assist in his season debut.
Malcolm Huemmert also scored for the Ice Dogs.
The Miners outshot Dryden GM 38-35.
Zach Willms picked up the victory, while Jacob Anthony suffered the loss.
