If you’re handling any $50 bills, OPP want you to be on the lookout for fakes.
They say there were three incidents involving counterfeit $50s this past week in Fort Frances.
The bills they’ve encountered are thick paper, not polymer, and the translucent plastic sections are actually tape.
Other differences to look for are hash marks in the top right corner of the face side of the bill, or a missing corner.
As well, the maple leaf on the left side of the bill is not translucent, and not a hologram.
