Kenora-Rainy River MPP Greg Rickford says he takes great pride in helping local communities and first nations.
Rickford is back in the riding after an eventful first term at Queen’s Park.
He recently visited the CKDR Newsroom for a 2019 year end interview.
Rickford says his government was able to support a number of health care initiatives in the City of Dryden.
“We announced a new hospice bed for the Dryden Regional Health Centre, much needed here for the community. And in back-to-back years we have increased the hospitals base operating funding which has been very, very well received.”
He notes the PC’s also supported local infrastructure projects.
“$16-million for the rehabilitation of Highway 502. That was a long time coming. And the replacement of the Moose Creek culvert. That construction is going to begin this year. We announced, with Premier Ford, $1.4-million for the reconstruction of Van Horne.”
Rickford adds a significant investment to support Memorial Arena upgrades was made and he’s hopeful there is more good news down the road.
He notes the government made it a priority to improve and modernize municipal operations.
And Rickford says investments were made in economic development and helping the municipality attract new investments and grow the local economy.
