Ear Falls Fire Rescue has partnered with Enbridge Gas to reduce fire and carbon monoxide deaths.
The fire team recently received 84 combination smoke and carbon monoxide alarms through Project Zero.
The campaign provides more than 9,100 alarms to residents in 40 municipalities across Ontario.
This year, Enbridge Gas invested $275,000 in Project Zero.
Ear Falls Fire Chief Darryl Desjardins says the alarms will be distributed based on resident vulnerability such as elders and families first,
Desjardins adds installation will be provided if needed.
He says the alarms have lithium batteries that last 10 years.
