Expect to see more cannabis stores in the region.
The PC government is removing the cap it placed on the number of stores, paving the way for more outlets to open across the province.
The rules around openings will remain in place.
The Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario will begin accepting applications on January 6th.
The province would like to see licence’s being issued starting in April at a rate of about 20 per month.
Attorney General Doug Downey says they’ve always said opening more stores would help combat the illicit market, protect our kids and keep communities safe.
