A civilian police watchdog is looking into one man’s arrest after he says he was injured in police custody.
Sioux Lookout OPP say they notified the Special Investigations Unit after the man reported he was hurt.
He was arrested on November 29th after a disturbance at a Sioux Lookout business, then released unconditionally the next day. The man made his complaint to the OPP on December 3rd. No further details have been released.
The SIU’s mandate is to conduct criminal investigations of situations involving police and civilians that resulted in “serious injury, death or allegations of sexual assault.”
