The winning ways continue for the Dryden GM Ice Dogs.
Veteran Malcolm Huemmert had a break out game with a pair of highlight reel goals and an assist to lead Dryden GM to a 5-2 win over Fort Frances last night at the Memorial Arena.
Sioux Lookout’s Cortez Favot, Josh Weber and Evan Pakkala added singles.
Jacob Anthony was once again sensational in between the pipes making 35 saves.
The Ice Dogs have now won six of their last seven games and have moved into second place in the SIJHL standings.
The team made a number of moves before the Christmas roster freeze.
Dryden GM acquired defenceman Bryson MacDonald from the Dauphin Kings of the Manitoba league and traded defenceman Lucas Fabijancic to the Red Lake Miners.
MacDonald, from Keewatin and a former Kenora Thistle, played in last nights game.
The Ice Dogs also released Jaxson Krupa, Mark Walchuk, Jackson Fuller and Luke Golka.
