With great sadness we announce the passing of James Bayer, on December 1, 2019 with his wife and daughter by his side at his home in Ignace Ontario, his cancer battle has ended.
All he ever needed was the love and comfort of his home with his family and his dog. Born in Manitoulin Island August 28, 1955 he came to our little Ignace in 1984 and found success in the trades, being a licensed heavy duty mechanic working in construction and mining throughout his career. However while working at Lac Des Illes Mine in 2001, he was severely injured. Many adjustments he faced and as a family we held on to him that much tighter to the blessings of still having him with us.
“Smart like tractor strong like bull”, his sense of humour was his armour to life and he had the loudest laugh.
A special heartfelt thank you to some incredible people James was able to make laugh during his battle. Thunder Bay Regional Health Science Centre, 3C nurses who cared for us like their own for nine weeks. Dr. Bezanson for his advocacy and empathy for us. The Meno YA Win medical/surgical nurses in Sioux Lookout during our brief stay. Many thanks to many people helped us to full fill his last wish to be at home. Eternally he will be missed by His wife of 25 years Korenia Allison – Bayer, daughter Kirra “Sherlock/the girl”, and son Jaycee, “the boy”, and beloved furry friend Buddy.
A Memorial Funeral Service to celebrate James’s life will be held Monday December 9th, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. in Emmanuel Anglican United Church Ignace. Luncheon to follow at the Silver Tops.
