Are you in the Christmas mood yet?
A new poll has found Canadians have begun their holiday shopping.
The survey conducted by Rakuten found that 36% of us have started shopping for Christmas gifts.
They are expected to spend around $546 on average this year.
60% started their shopping early because they find prices and sales are less appealing as we get closer to the holidays.
More than half of Canadians are looking for the best possible gift, as opposed to the best possible deal.
Even in Canada, the best days for holiday shopping continue to be Black Friday and Cyber Monday, with roughly half of Canadians planning to shop on these two major deal days.
The survey also found gifts aren’t the only expense of the festive season.
87% planned on spending an average of $168 on items for holiday entertaining, including additional groceries and alcohol.
66% said they expect to spend $94 on average for holiday décor.
Over 1,000 Canadians were surveyed in October about their holiday shopping habits.
