A number of new measures to fight bullying in schools will be introduced by the provincial government.
Education Minister Stephen Lecce says one of the ideas will be for a survey to be filled out to better understand students’ experiences with bullying.
Teachers and staff will also get training in anti-bullying and de-escalation techniques.
The Ministry is also looking at a review of how schools report incidents, and there will be a review of the definition of bullying in ministry policies to better reflect today’s realities.
The government adds it has allocated $3.18-million in the next fiscal year to address the issue.
