Premier Doug Ford is chairing a team that will work directly on furthering Ontario’s interests at the federal level.
The new Council on Provincial-Federal Relations is made up of six top level cabinet ministers.
It comes as Ford heads to Ottawa today (Friday) for a meeting with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
“And deliver a simple message. Prime Minister, we look forward to working with you. My Ministers and I are ready to roll up our sleeves and work with your team to deliver results for the people of Ontario and the people of Canada.”
Ford and the council will lobby for additional funding for health care, quick delivery of infrastructure funding and economic growth.
The council will also include Health Minister Christine Elliott, Transportation Minister Caroline Mulroney, Finance Minister Rod Phillips, Treasury Board President Peter Bethlenfalvy, Infrastructure Minister Laurie Scott and Economic Development Minister Vic Fedeli.
