Ontario’s Education Minister insists the government is working hard to get deals done with teachers.
Stephen Lecce has put forward the idea of mediated talks to resolve what he calls “the critical few issues that remain on the table.”
“The CUPE deal, we turned to mediation, it was an independent point of contact that helped bring the parities together, bridge the gap, and get a good deal for all parties. We seek to replicate that with our teachers.”
Lecce stresses he wants a voluntary settlement
The NDP accuses Lecce of negotiating through the media instead of directly with teachers.
