A new deal has been approved for about 40 unionized workers at ParaMed Home Health in Dryden, Ear Falls and Red Lake.
Unifor members voted 76% in favour of the three year contract.
Local National Representative Stephen Boon says members voted 100% favour of strike action last month, and fortunately enough improvements were achieved in conciliated talks last week to secure an agreement.
The deal includes three new paid sick days, a new pay grid that will boost top pay up to $2.50/hour for most workers, retroactive back pay to June 2nd, 2018 and expanded language related to vacation time and leaves of absence.
The agrrement runs from June 2, 2018 to June 1, 2021.
ParaMed Home Health Care is a private for-profit company that provides health and home support services across the region.
