A fresh new look for the City of Dryden as the community is set to move forward.
Wake Marketing has unveiled a new slogan, story and logo for the municipality.
The main slogan: ‘Blaze Your Trail’
Mike Greaves is a partner with the Kenora-based firm and he was involved in the rebranding process.
Greaves says staff, council and members of the public were heavily involved in the work.
Some 250 people participated in a community survey, roughly 50 attended an open house and a focus group session was also held.
Greaves says the feedback was outstanding.
Greaves asked people to respond to the following questions: Who we are? What do want to be? Where do we want to be?
One main highlight coming from the consultations was nature and our connections to the outdoors.
Greaves adds “The community really gave us opportunity to understand the sense of this is home for them and they choose to be here, and they want to set roots here, and they want the best for the community.”
Economic Development Manager Tyler Peacock says “I think it’s a wonderful new beginning for Dryden as far as our corporate image goes and as well as a community brand. I think this is something that I hope galvanizes our community in a single direction.”
Peacock hopes residents, business and visitors can find a little piece of them inside that brand.
He notes it’s important because “That is our first impression when we go out to another community, when we are in the region, when we are doing our jobs trying to attract businesses or residents. This is something that is leading the way.”
However, Peacock notes it’s just one component as Dryden retools its community improvement plan and strategic plan.
He says the next step is community wide implementation, stating the City will be working with Wake Marketing over the next few months.
