Dryden Police are reporting fraud charges after a lengthy investigation.
Police say on November 6th they arrested 57-year-old Peggy Ledoux of Dryden and is now facing charges of Fraud and Falsification of Documents while she was employed with a local non-profit organization.
Police say the investigation started in August of 2018 when they received a complaint from the Dryden Volunteer Recruitment and Referral Program about altered bank records and missing money that wasn’t accounted for.
Dryden Police say Ledoux was the Financial Administrator at the organization during that time and as the investigation continued the organization discovered sums of money missing from the Christmas Cheer Program.
Police say Ledoux has been charged with Fraud Over $5,000 and Falsification of Books and Documents in relation to those two organizations.
Dryden Police then say they received another complaint in August of 2019 from the Cloverbelt Local Food Co-op of Fraud by employee Peggy Ledoux.
Police say Ledoux began working for the Cloverbelt Local Food Co-op in February 2019 as an Administrator and shortly after the Board of the Co-op noticed unauthorized transactions on their financial records.
Ledoux was also charged with two counts of Fraud Under $5,000 and one count of Falsification of Books and Documents in relation to the Food Co-op incident.
Dryden Police say the total loss from all three organizations is estimated at over $30,000 and Ledoux will appear in Dryden Provincial Court on December 9th.
