There are no plans right now to remove a display featuring one of Don Cherry’s suits in Fort Frances.
The framed display has been at the Memorial Sports Centre since 2011.
The suit was donated by the late Sharon Tibbs after the former town councillor won it at an auction in London, Ontario.
Town officials say they’ve had no complaints from anyone about it since Cherry’s firing.
He was let go for controversial comments made in Saturday’s broadcast of Coach’s Corner, critical of immigrants who don’t wear poppies.
Cherry says he won’t back down but wishes he had used other words.
During interviews with various national media outlets, Cherry says “I wish I had used something else besides ‘you people,’ he said. “I think I would’ve said: ‘Everybody else. Everybody should be wearing poppy,’ instead of you people.”
