The Ontario government has issued its fall economic statement and mini-budget.
Finance Minister Rod Phillips introduced the PC’s plan moving forward on Wednesday at Queen’s Park.
There is money going back into some provincial programs which had funding cut.
Phillips announced $1.3 billion in extra spending for autism and child benefit programs.
There is also a reduction in the small business corporate income tax from 3.2% from 3.5%.
The deficit is forecast to be $9 billion down from $10.3 billion announced in the spring budget.
The government is forecasting a $1.3 billion improvement to its deficit projection for 2019-2020.
Phillips adds they are taking steps to end hallway health care with an additional $68-million investment in small, medium-sized and multi-site hospitals.
The province is also proposing to reduce the aviation fuel tax rate in the north to 2.7 cents per litre from 6.7 cents per litre.
We’re building Ontario together by creating a competitive business environment, putting more money in people’s pockets, making communities healthier and safer, commutes shorter and government smarter.
