A financial jolt for the Alzheimer Society thanks to North Star Air.
The northwestern Ontario company recently held Coffee Breaks at all six of its locations.
Coffee and treats were offered to those who made a donation in Sioux Lookout, Pickle Lake, Red Lake, Thunder Bay, Kapuskasing and Thompson.
More than $2,000 was raised to help those living with dementia.
North Star Air Chief Executive Officer Frank Kelner says “We are all touched by Alzheimer’s in one way or another, whether a family member or a friend. These funds support essential services for people living with the disease and their families.”
Alzheimer Society officials say every dollar raised helps them continue their vital work and is invested in a wide range of programs and services that are available from the moment of diagnosis through to the end of life, as well as supports education and other outreach initiatives.
