It’s time to vote for three great initiatives in the Tbaytel for Good Fall campaign.
In the $5,000 prize category, the MAKWA Clan of Sioux Lookout and the Community Composting Program at Red Lake District High School are both finalists.
If you select the MAKWA Clan, community partners will conduct evening patrols to help people in need access services.
The initiative will help make the community safe, enhance people’s well-being both mentally and physically, reduce crime and it will be inclusive to all cultures and backgrounds.
If you select the Composting Program, students and staff will expand the initiative to provide composting opportunities to all citizens of Red Lake.
This will help reduce fuel use and associated carbon emissions directly linked to shipping municipal waste out of the community due to a full landfill.
The ‘Water, Life, Growth’ Water Festival in Sioux Lookout is in the $1,500 category.
The Friends of Cedar Bay will host a week-long festival featuring a range of fun activities for the whole family.
The goal is to inspire community members to appreciate and protect the waters on which they live.
You can vote as many times for a project until Friday, November 8th at 3 o’clock central.
