It’s time to prepare for a popular holiday tradition.
Float entries are now being accepted for the Dryden Kinsmen Santa Claus Parade.
Parade day is Friday, December 6th but the deadline to enter a float is December 2nd.
The theme this year is ‘An 80’s Christmas’.
Ryan Graham and Brad Coles were guests on the CKDR Morning Show today (Tuesday) to promote the event.
Graham says “Think about what all those big things that happened. You have those great big video games. You have the neon outfits, don’t forget about your back combed hair. What can you do to make it loud, bright and just a spectacle for us to see.”
Graham adds “Really it’s about a community and having some kind of goal that everyone can really look forward to and bring the community together especially at Christmas time…It isn’t about the presents. It’s about just being together, doing something for each other, with each other.”
Coles says “It’s been an on-going thing for us. We do it for Christmas spirit and it gets a lot of people out and without the participation of the people who go in the floats and put floats it. They do most of that. We just appreciate it.”
The Kinsmen will recognize the top floats after the parade.
