A candidate seeking to become the leader of the Ontario Liberal party wants to see public and Catholic school boards merged as one.
Alvin Tedjo says his plan would lead to one English language system and one French language system.
He says this would address the fundamental issues facing education now.
He notes it would also save about $1.6 billion that could be used to lower class sizes, fund specialty classes like technology and art and improve schools.
