The Ontario Special Investigations Unit has concluded its investigation into an incident with the Provincial Police in Dryden and has cleared the officer in question.
The probe was the result of a December, 2018 incident at a home on Highway 665 in Wainwright Township.
OPP received two reports of a dispute involving a firearm, with the SIU reporting the calls came from civilians and witnesses who stated somebody is going to get shot and the situation was urgent.
Police arrived and the 61-year-old accused placed his shotgun in his pick-up truck before he angrily confronted the officers.
The land owner was eventually arrested on weapons and assault charges.
The SIU says when the man was in a police cell, the accused complained about soreness in his right wrist.
He was transported to hospital, where his fractured wrist was diagnosed and placed in a cast.
The SIU says the arresting officer may have caused the injury through a wrist lock he applied during the arrest, however the force in question was legally justified and there are no grounds to proceed with charges in the case.
Five civilian witnesses and four witness OPP officers were interviewed about the incident.
