Canada Post is resetting passwords for all online users after a report that some customer information may have been compromised.
In a news release, the national postal service says there has not been a cyber attack or hack of its network.
Instead, it believes login names and passwords stolen in unrelated external privacy breaches were used to access Canada Post accounts.
Officials say this is possible when users reuse their credentials on several websites.
Canada Post says it’s reviewing its policies and procedures to see what can be done to strengthen the security of its online platforms.
