The Dryden Eagles High School Football team came out on the short end of a defensive struggle in their final regular season game of the year.
The Eagles fell to the Crocus Plains Plainsman 8-4 Friday in Brandon.
The Dryden points came on two safeties earned by the defence.
The Eagles took the lead in the second quarter thanks to a Jakob Howarth blocked punt.
They led 4-1 but the Plainsman rallied with a single point and two late field goals.
Koen Taylor and Brody McMurrich anchored the defence.
Taylor recorded three sacks, while McMurrich chipped in with six tackles and an interception.
Dryden finishes the season with a 4-3 record and will have next week off.
They will end up third or fourth in the standings depending on the result of the Crocus Plains and Kildonan East match on Wednesday.
