There are no active forest fires now burning in northwestern Ontario.
A small blaze near Whitefish Lake, southwest of Thunder Bay, has officially been declared out.
The actual end to the fire season isn’t until the end of the month, but cool, damp weather is keeping the threat of any new starts down to a minimum.
There have been 294 fires in our region this year.
