A state of emergency is still in place in Manitoba where 25 Hydro One employees from northwestern Ontario are now working.
They were called in on the weekend to help Manitoba Hydro deal with several power outages caused by a severe snow and wind storm that struck late last week.
Manitoba is also receiving assistance from Minnesota Power.
As of yesterday (Monday), there were still more than 20,000 customers without electricity.
Manitoba Hydro says it could be a week to ten days before power is fully restored.
It says in some areas, a complete rebuild of the electrical system will be required.
Areas hardest hit include the regions around Portage la Prairie, Neepawa, Dauphin, Ashern, and Arborg.
