More than $1.4-billion is being earmarked to make Ontario schools more accessible.
School boards had to have their proposals in by October 1st to be eligible for a share of the money.
Education Minister Stephen Lecce says kids deserve to learn and develop in an environment that is accessible and inclusive for everyone.
“When the education system is not accessible, students are left out, impacting their participation in their learning environment.”
Minister for Seniors and Accessibility Raymond Cho says the money can be used for new schools, facility additions, major renovations and the installation of ramps and elevators.
The government says a recently updated Health and Physical Education curriculum and allowing for service dogs in schools will also improve accessibility for students.
