There was the usual verbal sparring during the French leader’s debate over climate change, taxes and fighting illegal drugs.
Last night in Montreal, the Liberal, Conservative, NDP and Bloc leaders went at it, with the conservatives tweeting Justin Trudeau will de-criminalize all drugs, after saying he dodged questions about the issue.
After the event, the Liberals tweeted the Conservatives are against gun control and fighting climate change, while Andrew Scheer went after Justin Trudeau over the SNC Lavalin affair.
The Conservatives tweeted Justin Trudeau is a hypocrite for enforcing a carbon tax, but flying around the country using two planes.
Green Party leader Elizabeth May wasn’t invited, but that party tweeted corporate interests need to be taken out of the prime minister’s office.
They also pointed out they’re doing well in the polls in Quebec, and they won’t be silenced after being denied entry to this debate.
The NDP tweeted Canada cannot just recognize the “Quebec nation”, and not take the previous Liberal and Conservative approaches of giving orders.
That party also referred back to the Harper years, tweeting the Conservatives cut funding to women’s groups.
Peoples’ Party Leader Maxime Bernier also wasn’t invited.
