The heat is on the Ford government with news that cuts to the education system could mean more teaching positions will be lost than what was first predicted.
According to a Financial Accountability Officer report, the reductions will mean 10-thousand fewer teaching jobs over the next five years.
The PC government has put that number at just under 35-hundred with most coming as the result of not filling vacancies after retirement.
Local school board officials are still waiting for more information before commenting on the impact on operations.
