In loving memory of Gertruida Johana (Trudy) Krahn, who passed away peacefully on September 20, 2019 at Princess Court.
Trudy was born August 10, 1923 in Gronigen, Netherlands. She met and married Canadian soldier, John, on March 2, 1946, in Gronigen. Trudy came to Canada aboard the Queen Mary with many other war brides landing in Halifax, and then travelled by train to Winnipeg where John met her. She lived the remainder of her life in the Dryden area and raised 4 children. Trudy and John were married almost 60 years before John passed away in 2006. She enjoyed gardening and sewing during her life. She was a member of the Barclay Women’s Institute for many years. She loved her family and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. The family would like to take the opportunity to thank the staff at Princess Court for the care they provided for her while she resided there. The family would also like to thank Dr. M. Cortens for the care he provided her. At her request no funeral service.
