The Kenora Catholic District School Board has a new five year strategic plan.
The Board oversees operations at St. John’s in Red Lake.
The strategy was drafted and approved by trustees following considerable consultation and public forums.
Director of Education Derek Haime stresses student voice is so strong in this plan.
“I believe it was 59%, so well over half of our respondents were are students, present and past, everywhere from Kindergarten to 12, and those that went away to University and told us all the great things they experienced.”
Haime notes they also provided feedback on some of the things that the board should offer to help students succeed.
The three main pillars identified include growing student potential, investing in the future and engaging with students and the community.
Haime says “We are encouraging students to name and claim their strengths and passions, fostering partnerships that extend beyond the walls of our schools.”
