The first game of the season for the Dryden GM Ice Dogs and the Red Lake Miners at the Cochenour Arena has been cancelled.
The reason for the cancellation is due to severe weather and a power outage in the Red Lake area.
Meantime, a new chapter in the SIJHL opens with the debut of the Wisconsin Lumberjacks.
They face the defending champion Thunder Bay North Stars.
In other action, Fort Frances hosts Thief River Falls.
