There’s a linking of arms between the Northwestern Ontario Associated Chambers of Commerce and the provincial Chambers of Commerce on how to make all regions of Ontario equally successful.
Regional spokesperson Charla Robinson says Queen’s Park needs to join the local conversation.
Robinson says “What can the government do to address the issues for all of the different regions in Ontario and then making sure that they are customizing their supports and their actions to address the specific needs of those regions.”
Robinson adds the end goal is working with the Ontario government to make the north just as strong as the south.
She notes local priorities include infrastructure for roads, the Ring of Fire mining project, and education.
