It’s been 18 years since the 9/11 terrorist attacks that claimed the lives of 3,000 people, including 24 Canadians.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau issued a statement on the anniversary of the September 11, 2001 attacks saying he will “never forget where he was on the day the United States experienced the deadliest terrorist attacks in its history.”
Canadian emergency service personnel are also marking the National Day of Service, paying tribute to those heroes, and first responders who made sacrifices in service to their communities and their country.
Premier Doug Ford says we will always remember the victims.
Ford goes on to note more than 150 Canadian servicemen and women gave their lives to make Canada safer and Afghanistan free following the attack.
Like so many people around the world, I’ll never forget where I was on September 11, 2001. Nearly 3,000 people, including 24 Canadians, died in those terrorist attacks. Today, we remember them and pay tribute to the heroes who stepped up to serve and help others on 9/11.
