North Star Air is finalizing its partnership with Fort Hope First Nation.
The remote community of about 1,300 residents is the 12th First Nation to enter the revenue sharing agreement.
The partnership was signed weeks ago but was celebrated this week with residents and leadership as part of the inauguration ceremony for the new council.
It included a cheque presentation of $135,583.96.
North Star Chief Executive Officer Frank Kelner says revenues generated from the partner agreements are designed to distribute funds back into the community for future investments in social, economic and infrastructure projects.
So far over $3-million has been given back to member northern communities.
