The Dryden Police Service has a new tool to help keep our streets safer.
A mobile digital speed sign is now being utilized by police.
Chief Doug Palson says the purpose of the sign is two-fold, the first of which is to make motorists aware of their speed, hopefully resulting in a reduction of speed on area streets.
Palson says the second is the collection of data related to the amount of traffic and speeds during various time periods.
The sign is currently being used in school zones, but can be used in any parts of the City.
The Dryden Lions Club helped in the purchase of the portable sign.
