The NDP candidate for the Kenora riding says he won’t be a one issue candidate in the upcoming Federal election.
Rudy Turtle says “people have asked me are you just going to speak on Indigenous issues and I told that person ‘no’ because I want to represent everybody.”
Turtle notes one message he will delivering during the campaign is the importance of getting out to vote.
He says sometimes people don’t think their vote will count or make any difference, but he stresses it does, especially when an election goes down to the wire.
Turtle is also the Chief of the Grassy Narrows First Nation.
He will spend the week in the Far North as part of a four day First Nations tour.
Turtle is scheduled to visit Pikangikum, Muskrat Dam, Bearskin Lake, Sachigo Lake, Fort Severn, North Caribou, Cat Lake, North Spirit Lake, Keewaywin, Sandy Lake, Deer Lake and Poplar Hill.
