A new junior hockey season begins today (Friday, August 30th) for the Dryden GM Ice Dogs.
The SIJHL team is hosting its three day Training Camp at the Memorial Arena.
President Mike Sveinson says it will be a busy and highly competitive camp.
“We come in with high expectations. We feel that we have recruited in a way that reflects that desire to win right away. You will seen see a deeper team and a larger camp this year. We want to make sure that we have a lot of options and get a chance to see these guys.”
Sveinson adds they are still building on the veteran end of things, but stresses they have a lot of options on the depth chart.
He adds there’s plenty of excitement, especially with Fort Frances hosting the Dudley-Hewitt Cup.
The weekend sessions are open to the public.
The camp will end on Sunday with an Intra-Squad game starting at 10:30am.
