Another scam to hit the area.
Provincial Police say several residents have been contacted by phone claiming they have won either a sweepstakes worth millions of dollars, vehicles, or a combination of both.
The caller asks the victim to send a large amount of money to free up the winnings.
They ask for payment to be made through credit card, bank draft, personal check, money order, pre-paid credit card, or gift cards.
The scam artists ask for the money to be sent to addresses throughout Canada.
Police say there are no winnings.
The elderly have mostly been targeted.
If you are the victim of fraud please contact Crime Stoppers or OPP.
