Football fans in Dryden will finally get a taste of action today (Thursday, September 29th) as the Eagles return to the field for an Exhibition game.
DHS is taking on the Beaver Brae Broncos in their only tune-up game before the regular season starts next week.
Dryden enters a new Winnipeg High School Football season with a young squad with only 6 Grade 12’s.
However, Head Coach Geoff Zilkalns says the group seems to be athletic and eager.
Zilkalns says Safety Nick Pinette and Linebacker Brody McMurrich will anchor the defence and the return of Koen Taylor from a season lost to injury last fall should help their team.
He notes offensively the Eagles will look for an impact from Micah Clarke, behind a rebuilt offensive line led by Josh Russell.
Russell is fresh off a stint on the Under 16 Manitoba team this summer.
Kick-off is 4 o’clock at Harry McMaster Field and admission is free.
Dryden opens the regular season at home next Friday.
