The Dudley-Hewitt Cup is coming back to Northwestern Ontario.
Fort Frances has been awarded the Central Canadian Junior A Hockey Championship for 2020.
This is the third time that Fort Frances has hosted the Cup.
It was first held in the community back in 2003 and more recently in 2015.
SIJHL Commissioner Bryan Graham says the entire Lakers organization and the town of Fort Frances did a tremendous job hosting Dudley back in 2015 where the game action and attendance figures were second to none and he’s looking forward to much the same this season.
Lakers head coach and general manager Wayne Strachan says they are honoured and thank the selection community for the opportunity.
Strachan says they have an initial template to follow from hosting in 2015 and are taking the necessary steps to get the prestigious event organized.
The Tournament is scheduled to start on April 28th.
